CEREMONY WEAVER
Karen Andersen Miller
|
Karen Andersen Miller looks
forward to her seventh year
weaving spirit at Total Recall's
ceremonies and fire circle. A
Wisewoman presence at
gatherings in New York,
Massachusetts, California,
Hawaii, and Canada she has
helped to create a culture of
prayer for all faiths by sharing
the experience of contagious joy through spirit and the
arts.
According to Karen, “acts of devotion may be part of
our daily routine, but to happily unite with a larger
community sharing a spiritual intention is an exceptional
opportunity for personal and world transformation. It is
always an honor and pleasure to write and lead
ceremonies and performances celebrating the Earth's
sacred beauty.”
Message from our Ceremony Weaver
We are blessed to come together in ceremony. These
ceremonies are based on faith art, a personal creation,
which reflects the belief systems of many. They include
spiritual practices such as rattling, saging, and honouring
the four directions. Music and movement from many
faiths will be used and candles will be lit.
Passion, our theme for Total Recall VIII, will be
CEREMONY WEAVER
manifested in the heart-opening and uplifting joy
experienced when we gather in ceremony. Visit the
'Passion Tree,' and discover and/or share that which lies
within.
Our 'Passion Tree' is in full bloom when adorned with
your passions. Using the pattern found in the brochure,
enjoy creating a special heart flag or ornament to
decorate the 'Passion Tree' prior to arriving at TR VIII.
You can also creatively commune throughout the
weekend at the Founding Mother's Space to make your
passion flag or ornament. Materials will be available or
bring your favourite craft supplies.
I also look forward to seeing you at the fire dance, after the
opening ceremony. Please feel free to bring drums, other
rhythm instruments, and colourful pieces of fabric to
enliven our dancing.

5” x 5” for your heart flag or
ornament. |

The Lindsay Rogin Scholarship Fund was created for the Total Recall Initiative to provide funding for those women currently financially challenged. These are generally partial scholarships where possible and may include a work exchange and partial payment for the weekend.
Lindsay was born in Ireland, and grew up in Windsor. She married Steve Rogin and together they raised two beautiful daughters, Whitney and Jillian.
Lindsay was, by my definition, a gentle aristocratic woman. She was the quintessence of a no-nonsense woman. She recognized hungry children going to her children's school, and she started a Breakfast Program. Her heart went out to abused women and she became the President of the Board for Hiatus House. She believed hospitals could be improved, so she dedicated herself to the Hospital Board of Windsor Western. And personally she encouraged me to follow any idea or inspiration that came my way.
For all these reasons, this scholarship fund has been created in her honour. Lindsay died of cancer in 2004. Look for her spirit in the faces of all the no-nonsense women attending Total Recall.
